having an issue with interlink calibration

This is a very strange issue, never seen it before in earlier versions:

When I calibrate the controller, my sound goes away. As soon as I either restart the sim, load a new airport, or aircraft, the sound comes back, and I get the message that I need to calibrate my controller.

I've tried this a few times, not like you can really screw it up anyway. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this, or if I'm just lucky.
 
I've had strange issues before where my sound disappears, too. And I think I've seen where my controller wants to be re-calibrated, but that's been a while. I've never been able to reproduce the problem. It just seems to happen when it wants to happen. Have to tried resetting to defaults in the launcher?
