Link between Aircraft and Flight Mode

Hello, I'm using the Aircraft "E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.5m" and my own Spektrum iX12.
I configure everything and it works fine.
With the B-switch I can select the Flight-Mode from SAFE-Select to AS3X !
Now I want to understand how does this is configured, so I select "My Real Flight" and "Edit current Aircraft" .
In the Aircraft Editor I can see that the B-Switch is linked to Channel 8, but how does it work together with the mode ?
Can somebody help me to understand or is there a video/tutorial how to setup, link and configur the modes in the Aircraft Editor ?

I've done a writeup here about how you can add SAFE to any plane in RF, which I believe will answer your question since it will explain how the Spektrum Flight Controller is set up.
