Many people look at 'OLD' photos of WW2 era planes see what appears to be planes painted Blue. These photos are V-E-R-Y old and the color pigments of the photos have undergone chemical changes that make it appear that the planes were painted this color. ACTUALLY, The 'Blue' areas were painted Olive Drab. Flying a 'Blue' airplane over a Combat Zone would be a BAD idea. All of those fancy colorful paint schemes came after the U.S. A.A.C. had won control of the skies and the threat of the German Air Force was largely defeated.

flying red planes is likely a worse idea but tell that to the red baron

a quick googling of "bald eagle P-51" or "N51JB" shows the modern plane as blue. I am aware that the original bald eagle is green and is not a D model it was a B model. and this is a P-51 (null) model so even an olive drab would technically be wrong as the plane is not the B variant

is this scheme historically accurate? no
would it be historically accurate if it was Olive drab? no
does it look really good? yes

if you don't like fictious planes don't download it
