Port Arthur is one of Australia's great tourism destinations. Built in the 1830s with convict labor, this magnificently preserved penal colony is a powerful reminder of Australia's early history. Port Arthur is located on the Tasmania Peninsula. As an inmate there, I remember wishing I could fly out of this prison, which held me from 1847 to my death in 1883.
