Quadcopter practice

I recently bought a small drone (quadcopter), brand name Drocon. I also purchased RF 9. I want to use RF9 to practice so I don't destroy my Drocon. However, I'm finding it difficult to find a RF9 aircraft that behaves similarly to it.

By the way, I don't like to fly in headless mode because I want to really learn and master controlling the drone by its orientation. I also don't like auto-leveling.

It's strange though... am I just being stupid if I don't like all that auto stuff? It's just more fun to do it the hard way.

So basically how can I use RF9 to practice using a small drone? I want to practice in some kind of obstacle course or some way of flying patterns, too.

I would start off with self-levelling to begin with until you get used to its orientation. Ya, and avoid headless mode. There are lots of similar quads in RF8/9. Just keep trying them to see what you find works best for you. Good luck.
