Is this your first time hearing about the DirectX 11 update? Click here to view more info, then come back here if you have a bug report to share.

We strongly encourage all RealFlight Evolution users to switch to the new DirectX 11 public beta and provide feedback on their experiences! We are interested in everything, big or small: crashes, errors, performance differences (good or bad), behavior changes, visual differences (significant or trivial) compared to DX9...

To help all of us--customers and Horizon alike--get the most out of this beta process, please do the following when providing feedback:
  1. First, look for an existing thread on the same topic.
    1. If you find one, please reply to that thread with your corroborating report or additional information instead of starting a new one.
    2. We will actively monitor posts and merge threads where we think it's appropriate.
  2. Provide your system info.
    1. Right-click your Windows Start button and select Run.
    2. Enter "dxdiag" and click OK. That will launch the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, which is a helpful way to gather useful info.
    3. Once that has finished loading, click Save All Information...
    4. Choose a convenient location on your disk and click Save.
    5. Add the saved DxDiag.txt as an attachment to your post.
  3. Describe the problem.
    1. Provide as much detail as possible. What do you see/not see? How does this differ from what you expected?
  4. List steps to reproduce the issue.
    1. Be as precise as possible. Sometimes seemingly trivial details matter.
    2. Be as concise as possible. Reduce the list to the shortest set of steps that will still successfully demonstrate the issue. (For example, maybe you loaded 5 different vehicles and then something bad happened, but maybe the only important part is that last vehicle load.)
  5. Screenshots are highly encouraged!

To everyone who has been testing the new DX11 beta and reporting their results:

Thank you very much for the high quality of your feedback so far! While we aren't glad the issues are there, we are exceedingly glad to learn of them. The detailed descriptions, screenshots, and videos accompanying your reports are invaluable.

We're still early in this process, but you have already proven the correctness of the decision to release an open beta.

Please continue reporting your findings with the same level of detail and supporting documentation. We appreciate you and your efforts! RealFlight will be better off because of it.

I remember the days way back when you guys would Host Multiplayer sessions and we could chat with you guys about the sim and issues people were having. It was back in the G4 days. Chris McVey was always there and a few others too. Being able to directly communicate issues when they happened seemed to be a great way for you guys to get issues ironed out. Perhaps you guys can do that again sometime. It also gave us a chance to fly with the developer of the Simulator which was fun to do too!
