I'm opening a trouble ticket with KnifeEdge:
But thought I'd post here as well just in case somebody has already been through this one.
This is the 5th time I've had to reinstall RF6.5 on Win 8.1
And I've seen the same problem on 3 different computers so far.
Just got a new computer clean install.
Installed RF 6.5 and all updates and it worked fine.
As soon as I installed the Helicopter Mega Pack and then ran Realflight afterward
Realflight fails to run.
In the past it has failed in the same way but just randomly either on it's own or after a windows update hard to tell but it will be working fine for days (including the heli mega pack) and then suddenly one day just will no longer work and
always gives these same sequence of errors when you start it up..
Launcher stage 1 works and then you click on "Run Realflight"
1st you see the loading splash like normal.
2nd you get a black screen for about 10 seconds
3rd you get a white background (realflight software form with greyed out options)
4th a small box pops up that only says "error" in it.
5th that same small box (fills in)turns into a box that says "error" on the top heading and in the body of the box has a bif red (X) and says "Not available"
with an OK button.
6th click the OK button
You get a new slightly bigger box (the original disappears)
This new bigger box also has "error" on the top heading bar of it.
In the body you have the big red (X) and:
"Generic application error. Enable debug output for detailed information.
This application will now exit."
and it has an OK button.
Clicking it closes Realflight.
