Super Sportster 120

I had a Super Sportser 60 in the 80s built just like the picture on the box in yellow with red stripes. It was a great flying plane with classic lines so I decided to model the latest Super Sportster 120 ARF but give it an open engine compartment like the older version in the first picture. So here's some pictures of where I'm headed. I'll use the color scheme in the first picture.

Brings back memories … they were quite popular and flew well.
And I was the first in my RC Club to have the radio pictured. Most everyone else was flying Kraft.

Do you remember the lower tier RC radio Kraft sold as PCS? I had one, very briefly. But in the 80s I always used the Futaba 7 channel Gold Box. It had the adjustable end points, gotta love that.

Not sure what I meant just making sure he knew there was a perfectly modelled one standard in rf

Oh from your first picture I couldn't tell what you meant. Yes I know RealFlight has one built in but I just wanted to model one myself. They say the meal you cook always tastes the best.

I tell you what the technical term for a modeler like me is so-so. Every time I start working on the fuselage where the canopy is I just beat on the keyboard until something happens. In the end things come together but until then I get really frustrated. But I finally won again and the canopy looks decent. I still need to do a little touch up here and there but it looks good enough to post a picture. I'm modeling this plane after the Giant Super Sportster ARF (except the open engine bay) so it is somewhat different than the built-in plane. It has wider ailerons that's not full width like the older versions so hopefully it will fly a little crisper.

I'm talking the wife to a specialist in Dallas today so we'll be sitting in the waiting room with lots of people, oh goodie. But we'll be wearing a mask and gloves so hopefully we'll be okay. But this is her pain specialist that refills her pump so she has to get stuck to fill the internal pump in her stomach.

Here's a picture for you.

Thanks everyone I appreciate the support on the new version I'm modeling. I'll try not to let you down.
