Training field

Just like in real life - wider open spaces, fewer or no obstacles (especially near the landing/takeoff approaches) and in the primary flight area (usually out front and to the right/left of that). Nice to have some distant scenery that is varied - "turn onto base leg when the plane flies in front of that tree/mountain peak/whatever" type things.
My go to stock airport tends to be RF Ranch, but there are many others. The Ranch has a nice fence line that helps define when one is flying parallel to the runway. But it does have a few trees and that entrance sign that can be easy to hit.....
