upgrade 5.5

If you can find (buy) a copy of 7.0, you can install that, then free upgrade to 7.5. Or buy 8 and then go to 8.5, etc. But since older versions can be pretty rare, and have to be bought (or at least ownership transferred), you might as well just go with a current 9.5 package.
Essentially you will be doing a complete new install of whatever higher version you get, then upgrading that to the free ".5" update if it is not already at that level. So you can continue to use your 5.5, too, if you want...
