Ok, i just installed it and my computer meets all the requirements and when i open the launcher and launch the program it starts up, loads then i get an error saying error: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL file: .\DEFECT.ccp line: 393 and when i press OK it changes to 363 and if i push it again it changes to 393 and so on and so forth.

Ok, ill do that thanks for telling me what i should post, ill do that once i'm on the computer i usually use.

Well, it seems i don't need help anymore because I just installed it on my main computer and it runs just fine, its a wonderful sim. :D so i think the problem with my other computer is related to something else ill look into it sometime...

If you had updated your software, it most likely would have worked. You probably have Intel graphics in the machine, which was not supported in the initial release.

dll errors

I posted this earlier, but thought I'd ask here too as you guys seem to have a
handle on things, and I'm leaving on a business trip and my sim is down now
because of an upgrade attempt.

I Tried to go from 3.5 to 4.5
3.5 ran fine, but I'm now getting the error;

Cannot find import; DLL may be missing, corrupt, or wrong version.
File fmod.dll error 126
This is the error when I try to run from the application file.

When I use the launcher, I get a similar message with this file listed;
NLVSCAN2.dll error 126

Running XP Media Edition sp3 on a laptop
GeForce 6800 card
1.8GHz Processor
1 Meg of ram
Not sure how to determine video ram

Any ideas?

Thanks
Bob

YES I have an Idea...... the key word(s) in the first error are WRONG VERSION
It sounds like you tried to install the free upgrade MENT for 4.0 to upgrade to 4.5 ....INTO 3.5  .....NOT GONNA HAPPEN !!!
They are 2 completely different versions.
If you want 4.5
you MUST buy 4.0(if you can still find it) and upgrade to 4.5 OR buy 4.5
At this point you should try these three options:
1) using the "Restore Defaults" button on the 3.5 launcher under "Additional Options" this MAY set things strait.

2)If That does not work try "reg.\updates" button on the launcher select "Update to Specific Version" and select the current version that you were using before you tried to do the(4.5) "update" but make sure you HAVE a check mark in the "Completely Refresh" box.

3)IF that does not work...you will have to completely Un-install\ Re-install 3.5
to do this WITHOUT LOSING any custom content follow these instructions:
Open the 3.5 launcher under "Additional Options" use the "Uninstall RealFlight" Button
and DO NOT check any boxes except the One that is already checked .
Have your 3.0 disc.s handy for the re-install then upgrade to 3.5 same way you did the first time you did so :D hope this helps

Duhhh

You're right.

I've been so crazy busy lately, and getting ready to leave town, I didn't do
enough research I guess.

The update page didn't mention it, and it installed fine.

3.5 is still there and works, so I'm leavin everything alone.
There doesn't seem to be an option to un-install just 4.5, so both versions
are staying on the machine for now.

Thanks for the reply
Bob
