Just my view,
Rebate…it could be…
The rebate is to help offset the cost of the newer software ( G4 ) if you have not owned RF version G3.5 for very long – ( on or after May 1, 2007 to be exact ) Not really knowing exactly when newer versions of software will come out, a rebate policy can help drive consumer confidence throughout a products lifecycle.
Or…it could be,
I went fishing last weekend – on the first cast my spinner flew off so I had to “re-bate” my line

PS: Just found my receipt – now if I can get tower to send me that 30 dollar coupon like some have – I’ll be good to go.
