I know there's a ton of World War 2 warbirds and bombers out on swaps and plenty more being modeled still. I'd like to see if there's any kind of demand for World War 1 birds. That's what this poll is for. Maybe people could also throw out some ideas of the type of WW1 planes they'd like to see. This will end in 14 days

Thanks,
Cowboy

There are a lot of interesting WWI aircraft. For a scale buff, they make sense. Yes, they are slow. But they are also a bit tricky to fly right. Especially to land them. Makes for a bit of a challenge.

There are only three WWI planes currently available in G3.5, G4, and EP's 1-4. Those are the Nieuport 28, Fokker DVII, and SE5. So there are tons of planes still to choose from.

If you have ever watched a video of the "Shuttleworth Collection" aero meets, you can see and hear many of the WWI planes actually flying. Same with Rhinebeck Aerodrome.

Here is a good sight to look at photos of real WWI planes:

http://www.wwi-models.org/Photos/index.html

Some of the most recognized types:

Avro 504k
Bristol F2b
Bristol M1C
Sopwith Camel
Sopwith Triplane
Hanriot HD.1
Morane Saulnier Type AI
Nieuport 17
SPAD 13
Albatros D.V/Va
Fokker Dr.I
Fokker D.VIII/E.V
Fokker E.III
Pfalz D.XII
Seimens Schukert D.IV
Curtiss JN4 "Jenny"
USA Built DH.4
Thomas Morse S4C

Well, I know that WW1 didn't have the fastest things around, but a lot of them had some really cool character to them. Plus it gets old modeling the same thing day in and day out. Here's a picture of a Nieuport 28C I've kind of slapped together in the past couple days. Just been working on it in spare time that I've got. pretty simple plane

Da real thing ...

As long as I can go to my LHS and buy a model of it, then it's a good thing to have in RealFlight, IMHO.

Well, i know you can get the Nieuport 28C since I'm modeling this one off of my friends Balsa USA 1/4 scale one. No problem on that one here :D

This one?

Fantastic model: https://www.balsastore.com/store/proddetail.php?prod=440

... in fact Balsa USA is a great place to visit for a LOT of WWI models. I have this one, but haven't electrified it yet, so I can't fly it locally anymore since the ban on dinosaur-fueled engines at our neighborhood parks. :(

Dh-4?

Id like to see some old bombers............ yes i know there were not very many
This is the only American made bomber I know of, and i can't find a flying model of it anywhere (although plenty of desk top display models out there). It would be a GREAT scratch build, for that reason.

Here's a German (Gotha) bomber: http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/AC/aircraft/Gotha-Bombdropper/gotha_info/gotha_info.htm

And, and Italian Ansaldo bomber: http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/AC/aircraft/Ansaldo-SVA/SVA.php

And, 3DMax has this French Caudron for download, but I haven't seen a flying model of it anywhere yet: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/154132

Before immigrating to the USA, Igor Sikorski worked for the Russians, and this is a small, non-flying, model of his bomber: http://www.rus-sell.com/item55-ilia+murometsrussian+wwi+engine+bomber.html

Google sin't producing many flyers for me. anyone else having any luck with some WWI Bombers?

Ww I

I my self started out in the RC world just building a few kits to get beer money
for a friend of mine that flew them.

I have all ways liked building stuff and now have a full wood shop in my garge. when I started to get back in the RC hobbie again after 15 years of not flying I was disaponited about the lack of kits out there for any flying aircraft. it isi all Swipe a debte card through a slot and bamb you have an Aircraft. Instant gratification.

There is some think so Primeval about eating raw meet, pooping naked in the woods, tieing some sticks together, coveruing it with bed cheets, sticking a motorized bike engine in it and, BAMB ! ! ! your a pilot!! This is the way God ment us to fly, Just ask Icarus.

The WW I are some of the funest type to build for modelers and a little tricky to fly, But I would love to see more WWI. Best thing about WWI is NO HELLIES. :p

If you make them, thay will fly. My two pecne worth

Albatros !! Albatros!! get your albatros here.......

albatross...why does that sound familiar? could you scrape up some pictures and maybe even a 3 view of it? Would love a 3 view. that way I can set some aside so I have some to model :D

spoke to soon

1907 Helli. lets see some one build this one

Ps Albatros !! Albatros!! get your albatros here....... ( monty python )

Gotha Va

This would be a awsome plane the german bomber Gotha. You could watch Flyboys for inspiration. Anyone who doesn't have appreciation for these planes needs to see them in action. I didn't until I went to The Rhinebeck Aerodrome in New York, UNBELIEVABLE! Its amazing that these planes flew the wing loading had to be high cause these guys had huge ba!!s. :D Wood and canvas flying with machine guns. Anyway heres some pics.

I bought Pack 3 because it had the Se5 and the Dr VII in it. So I guess thats my vote.
From reading about it, I think the Electric fly Dr 1 should come with RF as an standard equipment.
