The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic fighter-bomber originally developed for the U.S. Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. The F-4 holds a record for the longest continuous production for a fighter with a run of 24 years.

This is a 1/7.5 scale model of the F-4 (the same scale as Skymaster's F-4 kit), with the original variable camber wings replicated. There is also an "afterburner" equipped variant available. This changes the JetCat P-80 to a P-120 and is about 20 mph faster (scale speeds of 1035 mph vs 840 mph).

This model was created by Doug Kaye (DHK79); with technical advisement through out the whole process & final quality checks and adjustments provided by George Miller (Katonka). Please visit the F-4 development thread for additional details.

This plane has been updated to correct a UVW mapping error in the wings. It was not apparent on my colorscheme, but if you tried to place text on the wings, the writing would be inverted. I thought the effect was kind of cute, but Katonka was pulling his hair out as he tried to make a new scheme (which should be posted shortly). Thanks George.

Note to G3 users: rcplanefubar has been provided with the source files for this aircraft and will be converting it for G3.
