The versatile C-45 family of transport and trainer aircraft began life in 1937 as the Beechcraft Model 18. The AT-11, a variant of the Model 18, was further modified during 1941 as the advanced trainer model AT-ll "Kansas" (subsequently renamed "Kansan"), which was intended for bombardier and gunnery training. It was equipped with a small bomb bay, transparent bombardier's nose section, and two .30 cal. machine guns, one in the nose and one in a dorsal turret. Of the more than 1500 AT-11s built, 36 were converted to AT-11A advanced navigator trainers. Over 90% of all of the bombardiers in WWII trained in this glass-nosed version of the famous Twin Beech. After the war the few surviving airplanes were pressed into an aerial photography role, while others were converted into miniature airliners. Several AT-11s became the first air tankers / Borate bombers in California.

For this Realflight variant the engines were replaced with Moki 250 radials. The airplane physics were completely redone for optimal performance. This model flies like what it is – a bigger, heavier, slower handling aircraft.

Flies similarly to the Ziroli D-18 in YouTube video

Before take off close the airplane doors by putting the top left toggle switch in the middle position.

For take off don't ram the throttle forward. Ease the throttle open just enough to lift off. Lands well using minimal flaps.

A nice flying model.
