The Bristol F.2 Fighter was a British two-seat biplane fighter and reconnaissance aircraft of the First World War flown by the Royal Flying Corps. It is often simply called the Bristol Fighter or popularly the "Brisfit" or "Biff". Despite being a two-seater, the F.2B proved to be an agile aircraft that was able to hold its own against opposing single-seat fighters. Having overcome a disastrous start to its career, the F.2B's solid design ensured that it remained in military service into the 1930s, and surplus aircraft were popular in civil aviation.

First flight: 9 September 1916
Retired: 1930s
Number built: 5,329
Number preserved: 1 is in the Shuttleworth Collection

This is a fabulous 1/4 scale model of the Bristol F.2b. Like the real full sized airplane, it suffers from poor rudder authority at low speeds.

Channel 6 (Interlink controller rotary knob) controls the elevation of the observers rear facing Lewis Gun.

Channel 8 (the three position switch on Interlink controller) controls the firing of the front facing Vickers Machine Gun.

Modified for RF 7. Although this model will fly somewhat ok with the rate switch in the “high” position, flip to the “low” rate to get that vintage “1917 feel”.

This is the electric motor version which has gas engine sound plus the original style 4 blade propeller.

A treat for all the biplane enthusiasts out there.
