He flew as a Barnstormer, did some wing-walking and even a few parachute jumps with his buddy Bud Gurney...The two of them also flew the mail for the Robertson Aircraft Corp.

Before Bud passed on, he revealed an old letter from Mr. Robertson, hoping that "Slim" stays busy with that "Atlantic Project" in St Louis, because he didnt have the heart to tell "The Kid" he didnt really need him anymore!
