The Katonka is the namesake of George Miller (AKA Katonka) who was building a custom sport plane loosely based on the Bugatti R-100 (which I modeled for RealFlight back in 2007). Since I had already modeled the Bugatti, George asked me if I would prototype his original design in RealFlight. This would allow him to test out control throws, center of gravity, and various other aspects of the flight physics thereby minimizing the potential danger of taking an untested design aloft for the first time. The finished RealFlight model also allowed him to easily preview potential trim schemes without the use of either paint or monocote.

George provided the 3-view and design concept, I did the 3D model and the initial physics. George then did the colorscheme and the two of us tweaked the physics.

RealFlight was a tremendous aid to the development of a unique RC aircraft.
