Alternative flight envelope for DHK79's N-9M.

Watch it here:

This variant was designed to sharpen slightly the performance of the drag rudders' yaw, fine tune the knob-as-trim feature, and adjust for flight the wing incidence, dihedral, and washout. I added a slight gear ratio change for sound, and a more-scale feel. Sounds great, crank up the volume, and do some low and slow passes while in 'crow mode' (see below***). The dual rates switch is not used for this variant, it is an open channel for smoke or whatever you want.

The Northrop N-9M was a one-third scale aircraft used for the development of the Northrop XB-35 and YB-35 Flying Wing long-range bomber program. First flown in 1942, the N-9M (M for Model) was the third in a lineage of all-wing Northrop aircraft designs that began in 1929 when Jack Northrop succeeded in early experiments with his single-prop, twin-tailed, stressed metal skin "Flying Wing" monoplane, and a decade later, the dual-prop N-1M of 1939. The N-1M was in-part inspired by the pre-war successes of the all-wing sailplanes and propeller-driven designs of Nazi Germany's Horten brothers. Northrop's pioneering all-wing aircraft would lead Northrop-Grumman many years later to eventually develop the advanced B-2 Spirit stealth bomber, which debuted in Air Force inventory in 1989.

This aircraft was modeled for RealFlight by Doug Kaye (DHK79) as a special request.

The primary four control channels are normal, but with an elevon mix. Also note that since this aircraft has no rudder, yaw is accomplished by adding drag on one wing. This works better if used in a coordinated turn, than it does by itself.

Trim - Ch. 6 Knob: Turn full Clockwise (away) for 0 trim for high-speed flight, turn Counter-clockwise (towards) to add up elevator trim for slower flight.

Two Stage Flaps - Ch. 8 3-position switch: Up for no flaps, down (away) for 2 stage deployment.

Retracts - Ch.7 switch: Up for retract, down to deploy

***Crow Mode*** This is ideal for slow flight, and high AOA approaches. For crow flight, activate full flaps down by throwing the 3-pos. to it's away position, and spin the knob full counter-clockwise. Deploy the gear, slow with elevator, and modulate speed and descent with the throttle/elevator.
