1937 Spartan Executive 7W. The Spartan Executive was probably the ultimate prewar aircraft for the gentleman pilot.
Built by the Spartan Aircraft Company of Tulsa, Okla. USA, the Executive carries five passengers in Packard-like luxury for 950 miles at a cruising speed of 200 miles an hour – better performance than many aircraft being built today. It had a base price when new of $23,500 and adjusted for inflation would be about $280,000 today. Built by hand, only 36 (or was it 34?) Executives were manufactured, and all but one was a tail dragger. Today only 24 Spartan Executives are still in existence.

Thanks to Maj. Numbskully and jeffpn for a fine model.

Various modifications for RF 7.5 were made to create realistic flight characteristics.

Flight controls include throttle, rudder, elevators, ailerons, retractable landing gear, and very mild brakes.

Retracts are on channel 7, flaps are on channel 6, brakes on channel 5 (low position).

Fly with the channel 5 rate switch in the “High” position.

A very nice flying model. Easy landings with the flaps.
