The British Supermarine Spitfire was the only Allied fighter of the Second World War to fight in front line service from the beginnings of the conflict in September 1939 through to the end in August 1945.

The Mk V was produced in greater numbers than any other single mark of Spitfire. It was the main version of the fighter during 1941, replacing the Mk I and II in service in time to take part in the first British counterattacks over France. During the summer of 1941 it held an advantage over the Bf 109, but in September 1941 the Fw 190 made its operation debut, and the Mk V found itself outclassed. Despite this, it remained the main RAF fighter until the summer of 1942, and the low level LF.Mk V remained in use into 1944.

Channels:

Throttle, rudder, elevator, ailerons, flaps, landing gear, along with some extras described below.

Fly with the rate switch in the “high” position. Also, for the 3 position toggle switch top left of the Interlink controller, take off with the switch in the middle position.

Added features:

Flipping the rate switch to the “low” position fires the machine guns.

For the 3 position toggle switch on the top left of the Interlink controller

a) Flipping to the position farthest from you fires the cannon.
b) Flipping to the position closest to you engages 15% strength wheel brakes

This aircraft variant has been extensively modified for RF 7. In true Spitfire fashion it is a bit touchy with elevator control for take offs and landings.

A nice flying medium scale model which flies very much like what a Spitfire model would be expected to fly like.
