Hobby Lobby Senior Telemaster With Landing Flaps.

Probably designed around 1967, this model could be considered to be a classic.

Wingspan of 7.85 feet, weight of 10.9 lbs. This is an easy to fly / land airplane.

Various modifications for RF7-5 for good model flight performance.

5 channel flight controls which now include landing flaps.

Fly with the channel 5 rate switch in the “High” position.

Landing flaps were added to the model as per request. It was correctly pointed out that this model likes to glide almost forever when landing.

Landing flaps necessitated a few modifications to this light weight aircraft, such as (obviously) reducing the size of the ailerons, as well as a slight modification to the center of gravity and ballast amount.

Because of the way the radio channels were set up, the conventional channel 6 Interlink rotary knob could not be used. I felt it best to not mess with the setup.

The landing flaps were added to the channel 8 switch. Fly with the switch positioned closest to you. Flipping the switch to the middle position engages the flaps.

Although the flaps do work aerodynamically, to visually move correctly a modification to the 3D model is required. If the original creator by the name of JCHarrist is still out there, perhaps he / she could make this modification for us and resubmit the model.

This is a mild performance airplane suitable for pilots of all skill levels. Nice shorter landings when using the landing flaps.
