The Terrafugia Transition - a street-legal airplane. The Transition combines the unique convenience of being able to fold its wings with the ability to drive on any surface road in a modern personal airplane platform.
The Next Generation of the Transition Design, as modeled here, was released on July 26th at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. Terrafugia chose AirVenture, the center of the aviation universe, to unveil a scale model of the next generation design. The improvements to the design are based on data acquired during drive and flight testing of the Proof of Concept (POC) Transition (successfully completed in 2009), and extensive computer-aided design and optimization. Terrafugia's Transition is the only light sport aircraft to dynamically simulate crash testing. When combined with a full-vehicle ballistic parachute system and the ability to drive in bad weather, the Terrafugia team expects the Transition will prove itself to be one of the safest LSAs in the world.

Final Note: While this aircraft has been posted as a G5 file (to allow a view from the driver's seat), the download has been thoroughly tested and will work fine with G4.
EDIT Oct 1, 2011 - This version is NOT compatible with version 5.50.033, because of the way inverted airfoils are handled. I will rework the physics for the new version and release a version specific AV.
