OK, thanks! I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I think the good news is that I'm interested in getting the DJI Spark, which they say is very easy to fly.
I was going to wait until spring so I figure by then, after continuing with the simulator all winter, I should be good to go.
Just about any DJI camera drone is fairly easy to fly.
After pre-flight preps are done you take off by activating the motors and then moving the stick up.
If you get nervous just release the control sticks the drone will stop and hover rock solid waiting your next control command.
This gives someone new time to relax and learn what is what and play a bit with what the controls do.
Then there is the "return to home feature" if you do get totally stressed out.
Just take your hands off the sticks, let it hover while you collect yourself, and then tell it to return to home.
A FVP racing drone is totally different than a DJI camera drone.
It is fast and dont hover well without your constant attention and control input.
Usually crashed before you can actually figure out how to do anything.
A small drone like the new Dji NEO it is light weight and resistant to damage.
It might be a good "training" drone to FPV racing.
As far as I can tell it hovers nicely and behaves itself.
I am a novice and these are my opinions based on my few months experience with my used Dji Mavic 2 pro, a used Dji Phantom 1,
And two of the really cheap toys ($100 or less) from online sellers like Banggood.
Please correct any misconceptions I may have.
