enter menu without ESC key?

Is there a hotkey other than ESC to bring up the menus?
The reason I ask is I'm trying to run Realflight Evolution in a VirtualBox win10 VM. I do this when I'm using my Linux laptop (normally I run RF on a win10 gaming machine desktop, but switch to Linux laptop when away from home).
The problem is that ESC does not work at all. I have yet to find any way into the menus with RealFlight Evolution in my win10 VM. Doesn't matter if I run the VM full screen or in a window.
Note that RF9.5 works surprisingly well in the same VM, and as I've noticed that RealFlight Revolution gets higher frame rates than RF9.5 on my desktop windows box I wanted to see if the same was true in my VM. I can't test as I can't get the menus up at all to select airport, aircraft, enable RealFlight link etc.
 
I suspect it is some sort of DirectX problem. I enabled the menu bar in the ini file with ShowMainMenuBar=BOOL:Yes and it did show the menus, but they are not selectable.
I haven't found a DirectX setting in the ini file that fixes it yet
 
Have you tried turning on the legacy menus through the command-line console?

I still haven't gotten used to the new menus, as I've mentioned over on RCGroups. I posted this hint about getting the old (legacy) menus back over on RCG, and I've been asked to post it here as well. Totally by accident, I found the command-line console for RealFlight. I'm sure it's documented...
