F-105D Build thread

Legoman, is there a way to stop the F-105 from rolling in the opposite direction to full rudder applied ( full rudder left, model barrel rolls right)

that is inherent in the design (Anhedral)

As far as stopping it software radio mixing

I applied a 30% aileron/rudder mix and seems a lot better. Thanks for such a great model, love the F-105B.
Have you tried the F105D in RF-X, on the ground the frame rates are very low 50 fps (F-105B 150 fps) but in the air the frame rates are normal until the bomb release is activated and the FPS drop drastically. Sorry to bring this to your attention, I am in no way complaining, the F-105D is a fantastic model, and yes I fly it a lot, just the frame stutter detracts from the enjoyment.

I could not repeat the massive fps drop on the ground for me it was normal compared to other planes. I could reproduce the fps drop on bomb release, and I believe that is because it drops sixteen object at once

I haven't done any bomb releases but is it possible to put them on a timer and drop one bomb about 10 to 20 milliseconds apart?

Sorry I don't have RF-X. But
In earlier versions of RealFlight, there was a Setting, that, if present in RF-X, may help, in this situation.
Bombs causing frame stutter.

It is not really a projectile its a detachable item and RF-X has no guns or rockets to be considered a projectile

Spawn 120 fps as it rolls past frame drop to 50 fps, tested again only this time dump the bombs before take off run and fps hold higher, I guess RF-X is having a hard time with the armament. (bomb shy) I wish they could fix that, especially with your upcoming B-52 and 108 bombs !!!

I THINK, it is because I am dropping all of them at once. the b-52 I hope wont lag so hard

Okay I see what is wrong now, I had to reinstall Windows 10 (after a Microsoft update destroyed my NVME drivers), and of course reinstall RF-X as well, in RF-X I went to the system editor (control/alt/tilde) and typed "physics_threaded 2" enter and returned to main screen thinking that command would be saved, but no, it does not get saved you have to enter that command every time RF-X restarts, so consequentially my next restart was after I downloaded your excellent F-105D, running the F-105D without physics threaded, really upsets RF-X, Adrenoline 60 prompted me to look at the RF-X config files (RF-X.cfg) and change the physics threaded from 0 to a 2, RF-X now starts every time with that command applied and the F-105D performs great (no stutters).
The Lancaster Night Bomber also had a very severe stutter on bomb release, sometimes would drop to only 3 fps, (slow motion slide show with the staggered release ) but now that is also a lot better, fps do not go below 70 fps.
Is it just bomb release problems, NO, I have another model (RAF SE5a Scout) that stutters severely just rolling down the runway (non-threaded) in the air it is great, but threaded applied it performs perfect, ground and air.
Moral to the story, Knifeedge should apply this physics threaded command to the permanently cfg file.
Again thank you Legoman for all your help, and a big thank you for creating these fantastic models.

I sent a message to knifeedge suggesting they modify the RF-X.cfg file to include "physics threaded 2" they replied....

However, on mid-range systems, setting physics threading to 2 can result in general stuttering.

So I guess it's a test on individual systems to evaluate.

Looks rel nice Asj, I really like what you did with the metal in the after burner area, that is "somewhat" of a trait to the 105, that people often ask about.

Motion RC color scheme for Legoman's F-105D Thunderchief.

https://forums.realflight.com/index.php?resources/24630

this area needs to be pained transparent other wise the retract and bomb bays are covered in black instead of the normal paint
