Fairchild PT-19

I just finished adding all the test stripes I use to do the 1x1 mapping, but I haven't started the 1x1 mapping yet. I'm in that time of a project I get tired of working on it so I can only do a bit of work before I have to stop. But I'll get there. This plane is turning out much better than I thought it would.

I did a bit more mapping. When I went to the grocery store yesterday, on the way home, a rock was thrown up on the hi-way and broke my windshield. So I called the insurance company and the glass deductible was 500 bucks which is more than it cost for a new windshield. So the company is scheduled to come to my house and install a new windshield between 12 and 2pm. That was an expensive grocery trip.
not sure if i should have put like on this one , except i like no one was hurt

I started working on the PT-19 again this morning. I have the fuselage and wings 1x1 mapped but I stopped after that to eat. I guess I'll take a break for a while and play my game before working on it again. I guess once I get the 1x1 mapping finished I need to add the collision mesh. Right now the only thing that has a collision mesh is the landing gear and tires.

I just finished the 1x1 mapping. I have a little tweaking to do to the color scheme because of the final mapping but I've already done most of it. Then I'll do another build to make sure it looks good in RF.

I just did a new build and looked at the plane in RealFlight and everything looked good. So I guess the only thing left to do is the collision mesh and then the physics. Right now I'm importing it with a dummy set of physics, so I have everything to do in the physics. That is set all the part sizes, positions, and weights. And then do the flight physics. So there's still quite a bit to do.

HA... I started back on the collision mesh but I only did the hstab and stopped. At this pace I might be finished in 2025 sometime.

I still had a few tweaks to do to the collision mesh so I finished that this morning. I just remembered I never rotated the exhaust pipes down some so that should be the last thing I need to do before I start on the physics.

I bought a new usb external drive enclosure and put a WD 4TB RED drive in it a while back but had never used it. So this morning after I finished tweaking the PT-19 collision mesh I backed up the Super Chipmunk and PT-19 files to my normal backup drive and then backed up the entire REALFLIGHT folder (300GB) from my normal backup drive to the new drive, so now I have two copies of my REALFLIGHT files. I did lose some stuff when my internal drive died recently so I don't have "everything" but I have most of it.

I tried several times today to work on the PT-19 but could never get going, so I guess today is a day off.

Another day and for some reason I can't get started on the PT-19 again, burnout I guess. But I guess at some point I'll get going again. And so far there isn't much going on in the forum so I thought I'd post something.

Well, I guess I finally broke through my burnout. I had taken a shortcut when I did the collision mesh for the wings so I went back and fixed that. So after I rotate the exhaust a little I can start on the physics. Maybe. But I've already thought of something else I might want to do so I may do that before I start on the physics. I always seem to find one more thing to tweak.

Tweaknoid is back and on a roll!!!!! 😉 Sorry Buddy I just had to. Just playing with ya.
Actually can't wait till this one is done. And I know it will be done when you decide it's done. Glad you're back in the saddle though.
