Render World

This render doesn't belong to me, but the more I look at the more I think about learning to model. I don't know if this would be a beginner model though.

KE's original E700 which I modified. Doesn't it look beautiful? :)

RealFlight 7.50.013's stock Invertix. I didn't want to lose it on update to .015 (KE removed it) since I put a lot of effort into making it fly like the real thing.

When I had it there in 3DSMax already, I thought I could render it as well :)

Just a couple renders after setting up a new render scene and doing a little mapping work tonight.

Breathing life into a 5 year old thread. The second shot of the Knight Twister was taken during the render process. That’s in the second of 5 render passes so it should clear up quite well. If you look above the tail you can see the difference between the first and second pass.

Best one yet. Still a little lighting work to be done. The .png save is a little better but apparently it's too large to upload.

Looks fantastic Andy. Hopefully the Pitts will be back in the pic./render soon, really hate to see ya having the problems with it while mapping, you`ll get it figured out. ;) :)

Question for you computer guys. I’ve upped my render settings to where there’s very little noise at all in the scene. From behind, looking at the hanger door, it’ll do a full render in about 2 hours. But, facing the other way, it’ll go about an hour and lock everything up. All the screens start flashing on and off and absolutely nothing will work. Only thing I can do to get out of that is shut the computer off. Any thoughts?

Here’s a shot of where it’ll get to just moments before this happens.

Well, it pulled through, but I'd still like to know what's going on with the screen issue.

Two things come to mind. One. Some part of the computer overheats and causes a lockup, sometimes RAM will do that. Second. The system runs out of resources and the program can't handle that so it locks up. A fairly common occurrence when you run out of RAM. But those are just guesses based on real problems I've seen.

The renders do look supper though.

Here’s a link to what I’m running. I’m no Guru when it comes to this sort of thing, but there’s nothing much on it except modeling stuff. That’s it’s only purpose.

To me that system would be inline with what I said, 12 GB isn't a lot of RAM when you're doing heavy rendering work and the GTX660M might not have a good enough heatsink for long complex rendering tasks and cause heat related lockups. What you're seeing happens when people play complex 3d games and either run out of RAM or the GPU overheats (sometimes the CPU overheats too). You might try having a Fan blow on the Laptop while it's Rendering and see if that helps.
