Super Chipmunk E

Very good. Congratulations !

It is just an impression. Maybe the cowl could be shorter. However no big deal.
I took approximate measurements, dividing the length of the cowl by that of the fuselage :

1) Ratio : 26,7 %

2) Ratio = 24,4 %

3) Ratio = 21 %
When I modeled this plane I imported the Carl Goldberg plans into the 3d editor and created the plane against the plans, so the plane is exactly the same size as the plans I used to create it. That's a problem with plans for RC planes each plan is a bit different than the others. I run into that problem all the time. So the plane is correct according to the Carl Goldberg plans. I don't want to start changing the dimensions of the plane that will force me to adjust them in the plane physics in RealFlight and then I'll have to go back and adjust the flight physics to match it. I just wanted to fix the areas you mentioned, rounding the cowl and fuselage and shortening the gear and making the gear fairing wider. Hopefully you can live with that difference.

Just for kicks I went back to the original project folder and found a picture of what I talked about, importing the plans into the 3d editor. Here's a picture where I angled the plane over so you could see an in-work picture of the project against the plans.

@Atchoum I have a question for you. Now that you've flown the plane does it look okay to you, as in do you notice any stretching in the color scheme, or does it look okay to you the way it is. The reason I ask is because if it looks okay to you I might just consider this a one-off model just for you, and not go back and remap the parts I modified and release the plane. At least for now I'm going back to the PT-19 and finish it. So let me know what you think, is it good enough for you the way it is.

@Atchoum After reading your post about the length of the cowl I got curious and did my own test. I loaded the Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk and the Art Scholl's Super Chipmunk plans into Photoshop and measured from the front of the cowl to the end of the fuselage and then from the front of the cowl to the back of the rounded line of the cowl and then divided the cowl length by the fuselage length for both of them. This was using the select tool in Photoshop to get the lengths. Here's how it turned out for me.

Carl Goldberg Plans - Cowl 19.63%

Cowl Length 336
Fuselage Length 1,711

Art Schroll's Plans - Cowl 20.49%

Cowl Length 834
Fuselage Length 4,070

And when I for one measure your model in Realflight, both on the screen with a ruler or in Gimp with the measure tool, I get similar results :
- with A : ratio = 26,89 % (with Gimp)
- with B : ratio = 30,7 % (with Gimp)

However, no big deal as you don't want to change the length of the cowl...

Oh, I see what's different. We're measuring the cowl differently. I was measuring the actual engine cowl (I put a black line around it), you look to be measuring the nose of the plane. So yeah, that would be different. Here's a picture of what I was measuring.

I scaled the Art Scholl's and Goldberg plans to the same length and overlaid them. And yes the Canopy on the Goldberg plan is further back. There's also a big difference between the plans, which I've seen a lot when picking out a set of plans to model a plane from. But because my plane is finished, both the 3d model and the physics model, I don't want to change the dimensions. But at least now I know what you were talking about.

Sorry, my knowledge in aeronautic English is not good.

Indeed, obviously, Goldberg made the length of A...

No problem. I'm an old school RC plane person I rarely model an accurate full-scale plane. I used the Goldberg plans because it's an RC model I always wanted but never had. RC planes are often not true scale to make them fly better. I'd rather have a plane that is a bit off scale but fly's better. I'm there to fly.

Technoid. This Chipmunk really looks good. I would think a bunch of us would love to have it. Just wondering if there might be a chance you could put it out on swap pages.

Got a question first. You didn't download it when I had the beta on the forum for a while?

I did a lot of resizing different areas and never went back and remapped those parts so it's not a plane I'd want to put on the swap pages. But if you never got it when it was on the forum I can send it to you. So let me know.

Here's the gas version beta. It hasn't been remapped since I reshaped everything, so it's not finished.

The controls are setup for the Interlink Elite.

FLAPS: Channel 6 knob.
SMOKE: Channel 7 switch.
CANOPY: Channel 8 3 position switch backward (towards you).
BRAKES: Activated using UP elevator.
