Looking great, Since you are working on the Mk-IX, I'm including more info on the same mark. For the most part, the Mk XVI is the same as the Mk-IX as the Mk-XVI was a continuation and improvement of the Mk IX allowing for the use of the Packard built Merlins which were avalible in great numbers. Some of the late Mk-IXs were using the Packards and by this time American aircraft were flying with the Packards in various versions.
If you are seeking specific info, send a PM and I'll look it up and send it to you.

Your work is exemplary, truely representing the fine art of scale to the highest degree. Some people say I'm just To critical of what real scale is and what it represents. I learned and was taught scale modeling by a Brit you might have heard of, Mr. Dave Platt. The first time I met him was as a repairman to do some fixing for him at his work shop. This was also the first time i was able to see his work up CLOSE, instead of a photo in a magazine. That first plane was his newly releast Spitfire Mk-XII. After that meeting, I would see him in his shop just about 4 or 5 times a week for 4 years and learned every aspect of the skill he is infamous for. I learned that there is nothing that can't be scaled EXCEPT the air or water. a Quote from Mr Scale himself. I feel I'm pretty good at seeing and discussing really good scale.
The Mk-16 evolved from the Mk-9 and I'm not sure but it could be that Mk-9 bubble tops with Merlin power might have remained as 9's and the 16's with the Packards were labeled as 16's. I'm including a shot that i found interesting.
The quality of work you put into you projects and the dedication to the details without a lot of comprimising, this is your testement, and though you represent a small group, your work speaks VOLUMES. I for one, will never be able to thank you enough.
I think I'll start thinking about building a R.A.F air field so this bird will have a nice home.

Wow, now that's what I call details. I'm curious can you see that far back into the fuselage to see the bulkheads back there? And I'd love to see a picture of the full fuselage with spinner to see your build. Very cool work ASJ.

wow asl...!!!! ...Just when I thought you couldn`t outdo yourself with the Sea Vixen, this Spitty is looking absolutely incredible, that frame work is stunning as is the cockpit detail, those pics are well worth hanging on a wall...!!!! (y) (y)
