Curtiss F9C Sparrowhawk
The original 6 F9C's were assigned to the USS Akron, It went down but the planes were not on her, they were re-assigned to The USS Macon based at Moffett field. The Macon went down later and only one F9C survives today at the Smithsonian Institution,
The F9C's were loaded in the Blimps hanger and was then released by a sky hook. These pilots had nads of steel.
