Junkers Ju-52

The Junkers Ju 52 (nicknamed Tante Ju ("Aunt Ju") and Iron Annie) was a German trimotor transport aircraft manufactured from 1932 to 1945. It saw both civilian and military service during the 1930s and 1940s. In a civilian role, it flew with over twelve air carriers including Swissair and Deutsche Luft Hansa as an airliner and freight hauler. In a military role, it flew with the Luftwaffe as a troop and cargo transport and briefly as a medium bomber. The Ju 52 continued in postwar service with military and civilian air fleets well into the 1980s.

Thanks to DirtyHarry3033 for the 3D model. Apparently the color scheme of this model is "Rote Tante" (Red Auntie) which was used by Germany's WW II Hermann Goring from 1933 until autumn 1935.

Various modifications for RF 7.5 for good model flight performance.

Standard flight controls including ailerons and landing flaps. As usual fly with the channel 5 rate switch on the “High” position.

Landing flaps on the usual channel 6 Interlink rotary knob.

This model does have a problem which I do not know how to fix. Retractable landing gear is supposed to work. In the aircraft editor flipping the channel 7 switch does correctly retract / lower the gear. However, flipping the switch while sitting on the runway causes the model to sink into the ground with the landing gear extended. Flipping the switch while in the air appears to do nothing. If anyone knows how to fix this please do and resubmit the model to this swap area.

Other than the landing gear problem this model flies and lands fairly well. Its an interesting historical model sure to appeal to people interested in WW II era aircraft.
