I finished adding the gear.

After looking at the tail gear again I realized it needed a little more work. Some of the parts didn't have smoothing groups assigned and the tire was flat sided. So I went back and rounded out the side walls and added the missing smoothing groups. It definitely looks better now.

And... the wheel now has a hub. Or maybe the tire now has a wheel.

A question about the airfoil. Here's what I've seen on previous Timbers, but I don't see anything about the new one. Any idea what to use for the new one (E-flite Turbo Timber 2.0m)?

i see on the ones i have in realflight - one has the NASA 2410 another has the 2410 on main ans 2412 on the tip , another has the 4409 . but who knows , i can find nothing on the airfoil for it , but i kind of like how the 4409 reacts . i'll keep looking

oops i copied and pasted the EA and it came out huge font , the one on wheels has the CG away to far forward when you download it and try it out it does a foward flip haha , but it has the same NASA 2410 on it i did look at a couple videos on youtube and got a fair look at the wing shape and i think the NASA 2410 matches okay

Thanks! I was planning to rework the airfoil on the model so that looks good enough.

I started working on the wing tonight. There's a lot of work to do on it. The plane I used as a starting point had the ailerons and flaps the full with of the wing, but this plane has them inside the wing so I started out by insetting the aileron and flap inside the wing. Now I need to tweak the flap a little because it's flat up against the wing where the aileron has a triangle cut at its leading edge. So I'll fix that next. Then I'll redo the airfoil.

I just finished reworking the wing, aileron, and flap. @Bill Stuntz now it goes to the center of the plane over the fuselage like it should. Next I need to rework the airfoil and shape the wing tip.

Thanks Doug. The original airfoil was pretty much a flat bottom, so I knew I needed to change it.

technoid i think the airfoil is closer to naca 23012 or 43012a based on the leading edge or a hybrid (the middle image) based on dougs limages. also in the image in the first post there is a lot of curve in the lower surface of the wing looks curved which sort of matched the 43012A

Thanks for your thoughts. It'll be interesting to see what the RealFlight guys use on it when they create the model. But at least the airfoil I created looks better than the one that was on it before.

I shaped the wingtip but now I need to round down the wingtip. I haven't done that before.

Here's a picture of the wing after I shaped the tip. I want to save this wing for another project.
