@clintbrown, as @Bill Stuntz said it sounds like your situation issue would be solved by getting your laptop to run RealFlight using the Nvidia GPU instead of the Intel iGPU.
Really, I find out RealFlight8 and copy d3d9.dll to it's folder RealFlight8 can normal running but on same laptop RF9.5s still not work@asj5547, that is fascinating. We don't know why the DXVK workaround seems to work for RealFlight 8 and RealFlight Evolution, but only for some users of RealFlight 9. Without more to go on, it seemed reasonable to assume it is some kind of system-specific factor. To have it go from working on a given computer to no longer working is quite surprising! The fact that your pre-9.5S installation of RF9 lost its activation data is also unexpected. It sounds like something bizarre happened on your system, but I have no idea what that could be, and I'm guessing you don't either.
Go read this thread for a possible fix for your issue, it has worked for lots of people.Same issue here.
Bought a new laptop - sold the old one - can not use the product anymore.
This is very frustrating
I copied d3d9.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RealFlight Trainer Edition folder, however at Beta "Select the beta you would like to opt into" dropdown control I still see nothing....How to Get the Beta Build
Thanks to user @asj5547 for bringing this workaround to our attention!
- Restart your Steam client to ensure it is aware of the new versions.
- Right-click the Steam icon in your system tray and select Exit.
- Once everything closes, run Steam again.
- Right-click on RealFlight Evolution/RealFlight 9.5S in your Steam library, then select Properties...
- In the Properties window, select Betas on the left.
- Click the "Select the beta you would like to opt into" dropdown control to expand the list.
- Select "dxvk-intel-fix".
- Close the Properties dialog.
- Steam will now download the new version (which will be a very small download).
