This is a Real Flight 6.5 model of the Apprentice, a 3 channel RC trainer.
The original plane was designed by Bill Northrop. well known modeler and editor of Model Builder magazine. The Apprentice was presented in the May 1968 issue of Model Airplane News.

The color scheme was created from information provided by ripacheco from RC Groups, and is an attempt to recreate the look of an Apprentice he built as a boy.

The physics are set up for level flight at about 1/2 throttle and a gentle climb on full throttle. This is an very easy plane to fly, and the larger wing span of both the original and RF model makes it easier to see at a distance.
The slow flight speed of the Apprentice allows beginning pilots more time to think about the next control change. AVs are encouraged, particularly from those who have experience with the real model who can adjust the physics to improve the realism of the RF Apprentice.
