Bowers Fly Baby Float

I would say about 90 plus percent of the time a spinner is used yes. If I'm not using a spinner it's usually on a plane that's smaller and the hub of the prop wouldn't be noticeable enough to worry about. I know you're not done with the prop and just wondering if you think it would look better if the name could be moved in towards the hub a bit more say somewhere around half way out. Again it's looking really good. Are you still thinking of using the name Techair Carbon?:):);)

Yes the name is Techair Carbon. I put the Logo where I did to match the real prop it's about 1/3 of the way in. Here's a picture showing the hub on my Das Stik Bipe so you can see it really well. You can see it's streaks going back instead of dots. That happens because the part is mapped from the front only so the front and back of the hub looks right but the sides are streaks going back.

@rcdoski So which version of the two prop pictures do you like best? The first one where the prop is lighter or the second one where the prop is darker? In RealFlight the real prop seems fairly dark to me. But I can lighten my second picture up just a little if you think that's better.

Of the two I think I like the darker one but if you want to lighten it up just a tiny bit that's fine.
The lighten it up a bit was in case you thought it was a tiny bit too dark. I'm working on getting the hub the right thickness now. I've went through a couple of interactions but it's still a tiny bit too think. I have to leave to take the wife to her specialist in Dallas so I'll be gone until late afternoon but will tweak the hub a litle more later. That's going to force me to rework the inside of the prop where it enters the hub it's starting to stick through it a tiny bit now. This tweaking takes lots of time and patience, and I tend to run out of patience. But I'll get there.

I realized there was one thing I always did wrong when I made props. That is, I didn't shape the inside of the prop where it meets the hub so it fills the thickness of the hub. I always left it angled because that area is inside the spinner and you can't see it. Duh.. Unless you use a simple prop nut or one of those fancy prop nuts like in the pictures of the prop on my Das Bipe Stik. So I went back this morning and shaped the inside of the prop to fit the thickness of the hub and the prop looks much nicer when you look close.

Here's a couple of shots. Now I need to do the same thing to the prop for the Bowers Fly Fly Float.

Very nice detail. It just keeps getting better. Can't wait till you finish it but again take your time. Oh you asked what plane to release it on. One of the stock planes is fine. It looked good on the mustang you showed.

Thanks I'm glad you like it. That was my PX-51 I can put it on that for you in a AV when I'm finished. Off to the grocery store now.

I did one more go around adjusting the hub thickness and it seems right now. So now I need to create the CCW version of the prop and do the final mapping and update the color scheme. That sounds like a lot of work but it isn't. To create the CCW version of the prop I just have to duplicate the CW prop source file and mirror the blade and adjust the pivot ponts. And remapping the prop is just remapping the blade which isn't much. So I still have some work to do but it isn't that much. But right now I need a break so I'm stopping.

Here's another picture showing the ridge on the prop nut against the hub. I knew my last go around wasn't enough but I was tired and wanted to stop. But now that ridge looks right to me. The thing about the hub thickness is it varies quite a bit from prop to prop.

Tech, does the hub diameter seem a slight big or is it just the angle I'm seeing it from?
Does the hub on the other props I've made look too large? If I remember right they're all the same. And yeah looking at it across such a high angle would make it look larger.

OK, yeah it's probably the angle that I'm seeing it from.
Here you go front on shots from the RF Editor. You can tell which prop by the logo on it. This is on the Krill Katana which has a 3 blade carbon fiber on it stock. They look about the same to me.
