Yes the one in the first post is was what I was planning on.
 
I just finished reshaping the wing. This project started from the PX-40 so the leading edge was straight across and it had wing fillets in the front and back. I'll take another look at everything but I think it's ready to map.

There's always one more detail to add before you start mapping. I didn't add the horizontal splitter when I modeled the intake so I went back and added it this morning.

Here`s some graphics for ya Tech. if you decide to to that CS, of coarse, ya might have to clean them up a little. The pilot name is pretty small/fuzzy.. ☹️☹️

I did a bit more mapping. I mapped the canopy frame, canopy glass, spinner, intake, and started on the landing gear. Mapping seems to be spotted, meaning I only work on it for a bit and need to stop. I used to work on it for a long time but these days it's only for a bit. I'm sorry I'm not interested in doing full scale planes, but the px series fly's the way I like and looks close enough, so that's good enough for me.
 
I'm going to make one more change to the landing gear. The scissors on the wing gear stick out from the side looking from the front, instead of sticking out the back looking at the side. But the gear I used the scissors were sticking out the back like most gear. I left them that way because I wasn't sure the wings were thick enough to hide the scissors sticking out the side. That's been bugging me so I took some time to test the scissors on the side and the wings are thick enough to hide them. So I guess I'll go back and move the scissors to the side like the real plane has. This surely isn't a scale plane but it won't hurt for one more part to look more scale.
 
I can't seem to stop modifying things. For a while I've wanted to modify the shape of my newest tires so after I repositioned the scissors on the gear I decided to do that too. It's not something you can see in this picture but you can see the new position of the scissors. Now maybe I can get back to mapping. But my wife has a specialist appointment in Dallas so I won't be doing much mapping for a while.

I would say yes, having looked at a lot of pics., I would say 99% of them have the cannon, the one`s that don`t show it, I don`t know why..?? ANYWAY, of those pics., I find it hard to find any with wing guns, yes there are some, but not many. I`m not sure how the plane was fitted with armament during it`s yrs. ?? I`m sure the cannon was its main gun, as for the wing guns, maybe they traded that for fuel space in some variations. ?? So I would suggest, going back to post #55....:)

Okay thanks I guess I'll do one more mod then. I set it up to start mapping again, but I can revert back to normal and add the cannon. Then set it up for mapping again. (that is add the mapping modifier)
