After WWII, the National Air Races resumed in Cleveland, Ohio. The year was 1946. Al Johnston (AKA "Tex") at the age of 32, entered and won the "Thompson Trophy".Setting a "closed coarse"speed record of somewhere between 374/379 MPH (depending where you look) in his modified P-39 Airacobra.
This is my rendition of his plane for RF that he won the race with, as best as the map would allow,(only a couple of minor flaws, which are barely noticeable).
Needless to say, if you want to learn more about "Tex", just Google "Tex Johnston", and find out why, I/You would have liked to walk a mile in his "BOOTS"
I want to thank Brentg for the very nice EA he posted, making this CS possible.
