I'm not sure what you're seeing. When I had the side view of the scale plan in 3ds max the fuselage fit fine and the engine exhaust is sized and placed correctly on my plane from the plans. It is a Fun Fly version so the vstab will look different with the larger rudder. But I just moved the hinge line forward to make the rudder larger so the overall shape and size of the vstab should be pretty much the same.Looking at the images above, I get the feeling that the plane is too long. There engine and space between wing and tail seems long to me. Is it an incorrect aspect ratio of the picture?
It may be possible that because the GG does not have the bottom radiator scoop, so visually it makes it look longer. Plus, the canopy is much lower in height. I could be wrong.Looking at the images above, I get the feeling that the plane is too long. There engine and space between wing and tail seems long to me. That looks much better..!!!@uncle twist Take a look at this and see if you like it better. I went back to the real plane sizing for "The Galloping Ghost" text. By that I mean "The Galloping" part of the text is sized to fit the width of the exhaust, and I also made the text taller so it should look closer to the real plane.

Okay, good deal I'm glad you like it.That looks much better..!!!
I flew a couple of P51s in Realflight last night and that was the conclusion I just came to too.It may be possible that because the GG does not have the bottom radiator scoop, so visually it makes it look longer. Plus, the canopy is much lower in height. I could be wrong.
Yes, one of the things I left off is the separate aileron/flaps. When I created the aileron/flaps picture I posted on the build thread it was a temporary file so I needed to go back and add them to the main file, which I never did. Then when it was time to start mapping for some reason I didn't like them that much so I didn't add them. I didn't care for the aileron/flaps because they were on a Fly Fly wing with wide ailerons so adding the aileron/flaps looked too wide to me so I left them off. The other thing I left off is a retractable canopy because I didn't like the way the smoothing groups looked different for the two pieces. Then when I did the color scheme I added an outline where the edge of the canopy was so I could have left the retractable canopy because the outline would have broke-up the odd separate smoothing group look. Thanks Tech. It flies very nice and love how clean and sleek it looks. Is one of the things you left off the separation of flap and ailerons? Full length flaperons. And what happened to the prop it had in some of the posts? One thing I did notice on the prop you had made for it, but I didn't want to be critical, but you are asking now is. It looked like it had high pitch at the hub, lower pitch mid blade then high pitch at the tip. See pic at Post#233. Then look at post#224 where it looks like high pitch at hub and tapers to lower pitch at tip. Most props have a twist from high at hub to low at the tip. It tracks very very good. In a loop it just carves the same groove I like that. It hovers pretty good. And you put the smoke at the tail instead of exhaust I kinda like that. This is going to be a really fun plane, heck it already is. Thanks for letting us try it out. I defiantly want this one in my hanger!
Okay, thanks. But you need to remember those 3 pictures are drawings so you can't really go by them. I'm not saying the prop outline isn't correct just that it's a drawing and not the real thing. I do know the blade should have a twist in it I just messed up and didn't put one in any of the props I've made so far. I just forgot about the twist when I modeled the props. (my bad)On The pic above it seems the blade has a twist. This is the image I was referring to. Thanks Tech.
I downloaded those videos and watched them to learn how to make a prop. But I forgot about the twist when I modeled my props. I'm just an old dummy. This is the kind of stuff that makes me say my planes are just so-so.Tech. on post#193 you put a great YouTube link out, and a ways down in it there was a vid on making prop blades I thought was very interesting. I thanked you for putting it out because it was quite fascinating.
